Didn't want to solve the vertical drill jumps for myself because repetitive and random.
just a question: how do the vertical drill jumps differ from any other obstacles in various maps?
every map has same steps: try different jumps, memorize them, do them all without losing a turn.
so if we go with ur logic, every battlerace map that has ever existed is repetitive and random
most jumps can be solved logically with spatial knowledge of how far worms jump with the differing types and how the worms will react to terrain, i.e. bump jumps. trap jumps (those that stop vertical momentum) into a vertical area all while losing your turn because you incorrectly, and blindly, i might add, chose erroneously does not fit into the spectrum of every battlerace ever made. we're comparing russian roulette to chess here. just because you know which barrel the bullet is in after the fact does not make you any more prepared for the first try. there's nothing wrong with the jumps persay, the map is not bad at all, i just prefer something that i don't have to learn blindly and rather prefer jumps that i fail and learn therein because of incorrect approach rather than through a process of classical conditioning.
simply:
1. "i missed the jump, should have used the bump jump, the ceiling was too low"; or "i was too close to the edge while jumping, i should have jumped from farther back because my worm bounced off the object rather than sticking the jump."
2. "i missed the jump, i needed to bump jump off two walls to stick to a minimum height pixel and then backflip out"
if there were any rhyme or reason to these drill sections, i would feel otherwise i think. i've seen some good battlerace players solve very difficult sections on their first try on tough maps.
at the end of the idea i think there is just a clash of ideology, i just enjoy solving sections based on my knowledge of worms mechanics vs what i am terming as blind luck on a first run. i am no more prepared now than i was the first time i ran into this type of drill section. i cannot say that of the vast, vast, majority of battlerace maps.
