+ very cheap, can eat a dinner for 5 euro or travel by train all the way across the country for 15 euro,
+ beautiful nature and countryside - although you need to know where to look, as popular places get very crowded in the season,
+ western idea of political hypercorrectness is largely absent from the public attention,
+ natural disasters (volcanoes, earthquakes) are non-existent, extreme weather is rare,
+ overall life is generally decent as long as you're not working like a mule for minimum wage.

- everyone, even your friends, are extremely nosy and judgemental about how you're living your life,
- our government has obvious authoritarian ambitions,
- the catholic church has a massive influence on public life (luckily this is slowly changing),
- public healthcare is a sad joke,
- terrible air pollution in cities during winter.

Guess so. I actually reinstalled WA and played a few casual games with my IRL friends. There's been a big surge of activity in the past days. I saw 70+ players in AG yesterday evening.

Where is everyone? Amazing how the league activity went from a normal 1500-2000 games per season a year ago to basically zero right now... seems like as soon as a significant number of players leave the game, everyone else just follows suit?

Here. Only thing I'm kinda disappointed about is that I didn't end up getting in touch with the person responsible for the editing, so they didn't use any of my photos, just random footage from youtube :-)

Was live on Polish national TV this morning. Talked about astronomy and the upcoming total solar eclipse in the US.

Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve is great. It needs a considerably powerful CPU, as the free version doesn't use GPU acceleration (as far as I know).

I'm a GPU programmer now, doing mostly science-y stuff (data visualization, parallel computing, I don't really write games), I also make some additional money on the side from selling my photography, but not quite enough to make a living off it :-)

Kinda lost interest in the whole thing in mid-2014, but I kept all my doges and bitcoins until I sold everything for about $800 roughly two weeks ago. Would've been close to $1200 right now, but I can't complain anyway

These consist mostly of walking and turn based combat and are very leisurely paced.
